There was a lot I liked about this, but especially the courtroom and jury- I kind of wish that had been the focus, though the love story was sweet. I was drawn in by the real housewives drama of it all, and enjoyed reading how the witnesses unfolded. I’ve been on a jury- though not a sequestered one- and the experience described felt authentic. But I wanted a little more all the way around- from the defense attorney and Margot, from Damon about his views on the case, from the other jurors, from Sydney about her family. Still, it held my attention and I liked the way their relationship evolved along with the case.

Short summary: Sydney’s number one goal is to ensure her fellow jurors free Margot. That is until her estranged best friend from childhood shows up as a brooding hunk of a man/fellow juror who keeps finding ways to touch her.

Trigger warning: to all my fellow moms: there’s death of a child off-page but prevalent.
