It was fun to be back in the land of the L Word. To learn how the pilot got picked up and one season turned into two. To hear about behind the scenes and learn about guest stars. The truth and fiction as told by Kate/Shane and Leisha/Alice, and the craft of acting. It pains me to say though, it wasn’t nearly as captivating as the show. The peek behind the curtain didn’t feel like a tell-all - and maybe that’s a good thing, that the show was low drama, high fun, great bonding, and produced life-long love and friendship. They’re nice people who overcame and gave us a super important show without much background angst. Good for them! ..but not a super compelling read beyond nostalgia. 3.5 rounded up b/c the show truly was seminal.

Short summary: Leisha and Kate take us through their lives before and after the L Word.
